Where unarmed guards work in Beverly Hills
- Golden Triangle retail. Boutiques, galleries and salons between Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard and Rodeo Drive, where an officer greets customers, watches the floor and handles opening and closing.
- Medical, dental and professional offices. Buildings on the numbered and named drives off Wilshire, where lobbies need visitor check-in, after-hours access control and a steady presence for staff leaving late.
- Office lobbies and parking structures. Front-desk coverage, garage rounds and incident reports for property managers along Wilshire and Beverly Drive.
- Residential buildings. Apartment and condominium buildings south of Wilshire that need a lobby officer, package-room oversight or overnight rounds.
- Private homes and events. A gate or driveway officer at a home in the flats, Trousdale Estates or above Sunset, for a dinner, a fundraiser, a renovation or time away.
What the officer actually does
An unarmed officer’s job is to prevent problems and document what happens. On a typical Beverly Hills post that means greeting and checking in visitors, keeping service entrances and loading areas controlled, walking set rounds of the building or grounds, and watching for the things that come before theft: someone lingering near a display case, a door propped open, a car circling the block. When something does happen, the officer follows the post orders, contacts the right person on your side, calls local authorities when needed and writes a clear report.
An LDG unarmed officer is a private security officer, not law enforcement. We say that plainly to clients and we plan posts around it: observe, deter, assist and report.
Fitting the setting
A boutique may want a clearly marked security presence at the door, while a family hosting guests may prefer someone in business attire who blends in. We set attire, positioning and how the officer speaks to customers or guests with you before the first shift, then keep those details in the post orders so every officer on the rotation works the same way.
Unarmed or armed in Beverly Hills?
Most Beverly Hills retail, office and residential posts are a good fit for unarmed coverage: the goal is deterrence, access control and service. When there is a specific threat, a high-value delivery or a history of incidents at the property, we will talk through armed security in Beverly Hills instead, and we only recommend it when the risk supports it.
Scheduling and quotes
Coverage can be a few hours for an event, evenings only for a store, or full-time for a building. Shifts have a four-hour minimum. Pricing depends on the hours, the number of officers and how long the assignment runs; ongoing coverage usually costs less per hour than a one-day job, and holiday rates vary. Call or text for a quote and we will walk you through it.
California requires every security guard to hold a guard card from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, and LDG officers work under our PPO License #122869. Many Beverly Hills clients pair an on-site officer with mobile patrol visits overnight or a camera tower at a construction site. For every service in the city, see our Beverly Hills security page.
