Malibu fire watch coverage
- Rebuilds before systems are live. Rounds of framed and partly finished homes, often paired with construction site security in Malibu.
- Hot work on site. A guard during welding, metal work or roofing, and for the cool-down period afterward.
- Homes with systems down. Coverage for a house or guest house while an alarm or sprinkler system is repaired, including while the owners are away.
- Fire-damaged properties. Rounds of a damaged structure while it waits for demolition or repair.
- Commercial properties. Shopping centers, restaurants and offices along PCH when a panel is out.
Red flag days and access
Many Malibu sites sit on private roads or narrow canyon lanes. Post orders cover the gate, where the guard parks and how fire trucks would reach the property. On red flag days we confirm the evacuation plan with you ahead of time, including who decides when the guard leaves.
What the guard does
On each round the guard checks the structure and the grounds for smoke, heat, odors and new hazards such as stored fuel or debris piles, and notes it in the fire watch log. If there is a fire, the guard calls 911, alerts anyone on the property and meets the fire department. Guards do not fight fires.
Getting a fire watch scheduled
Fire watch coverage in Malibu can be a single shift for hot work, nights only while a building is empty, or every hour the system is out until it is repaired. Shift length is set to your needs. Pricing depends on the hours, the number of guards and how long the fire watch runs; longer agreements get lower rates, and requests made with less than 7 days’ notice carry an upcharge. Published guard ranges are on our rates page. Request a consultation, or call or text (442) 288-6642.
California requires every security guard to hold a guard card from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, and LDG works under PPO License #122869. For the service across the county, see fire watch in Los Angeles County; for every service in the area, see our Malibu & Pacific Palisades page.
