Common Van Nuys assignments
- Warehouses and industrial buildings. Gates, yards and loading docks, especially at night and on weekends.
- Businesses near Van Nuys Airport. Lots, entrances and after-hours coverage for companies around the airport.
- Auto dealerships. Inventory lots and service areas after closing.
- Apartment communities. Garages, entrances and common areas on the nights that cause problems.
- Job sites. Equipment and materials before and after working hours.
Covering a large lot without overpaying
Large yards and dealership lots are expensive to cover with officers every hour of every night. A common setup is an off-duty officer during the hours when most problems happen, plus patrol checks or the AI Vehicle Surveillance Program for the rest, with the camera vehicle remotely viewed by LDG. For a fenced site that needs cameras for weeks, camera towers are another option. We walk the site and recommend what fits.
How the officers work
Off-duty police officers are sworn officers who take private assignments on their own time. On your post, their duties are set by the post orders and their own department’s off-duty rules. LDG sources and vets them, briefs them, keeps the schedule covered and sends one invoice. Van Nuys is part of the City of Los Angeles; see the Los Angeles security page and the off-duty police officers page.
