Where armed officers fit in Malibu
- Oceanfront and bluff estates. Homes with beach access points, long driveways or valuables on site, especially while the owners are away.
- Canyon homes. Properties at the end of long roads, where an officer on site matters more because everything else is far.
- High-profile events. Weddings, parties and fundraisers where the guest list, jewelry or press attention raises the risk.
- Residents with a specific concern. Stalking, threats or a public moment that draws people to the house.
A plan that holds up when help is far away
For Malibu posts, we spend extra time on the plan: entry points from the beach and the road, lighting, who is allowed on the property, how the officer communicates with the family, and exactly when to call local authorities. Officers are briefed on all of it before their first shift. We also plan for fire season, so the officer knows how evacuation orders affect the post.
Armed coverage usually works best as one layer. A common Malibu setup is an armed officer at the main residence, unarmed guards at a gate or event entrance, and our mobile camera vehicle on a rebuild lot or second property.
