AI Surveillance Vehicle: Seen First. Watched Live.

A clearly marked LDG patrol vehicle, parked where anyone approaching sees it first, with four AI cameras that LDG views live and remotely. It is built to make someone casing your property decide to go somewhere else.

How it sees

Four cameras. 360°. Viewed live.

Each corner of the vehicle carries a 4K security camera with AI detection, night vision, a siren and two-way talk. LDG views the feed live and remotely, so a person sees what the cameras see.

LDG PERSON VEHICLE LIVE 360°
  • 4 cameras, 360°One camera on each corner of the vehicle, so there is no blind side.
  • 4K wide viewEach camera pairs a 4K, 130° wide lens with a 2K tracking lens.
  • Auto-tracking, 8× zoomThe tracking lens follows movement and zooms in on the detail.
  • AI person & vehicle detectionOn-camera AI tells people and vehicles apart. Radar plus motion sensing cuts false alerts.
  • Color night visionBuilt-in spotlights keep the picture in color after dark.
  • Viewed live, remotelyLDG views the cameras live from off site, so a person is watching, not just a recorder.
  • Siren, lights & talk-backA 105 dB siren, red-and-blue warning lights and two-way talk to warn people off.
  • Optional patrolIt runs unmanned. Add an LDG patrol officer whenever you want boots on the ground.
Marked to deter

Built to be noticed

Cameras on a pole are easy to ignore. A security vehicle is not. Every detail of the LDG vehicle is chosen so that anyone approaching knows the property is protected and watched.

  • A patrol build that reads as enforcement. Black Ford Explorer with a push bumper.
  • Marked on every side. PATROL lettering and the LDG badge on the doors.
  • Cameras in plain view. Four cameras on the roof corners, so nobody wonders if they are being recorded.
  • Lights and sound. Red-and-blue warning lights, spotlights and a 105 dB siren.
  • Parked to be seen first. We place it at entrances, drive aisles and gates, where it is the first thing people notice.
  • Security, never police. Marked as private security, as California requires, and still unmistakable.

The goal is not to catch someone. It is to make them choose somewhere else.

How the program works

Seen by anyone approaching. Watched by LDG.

  1. We plan the placement. LDG looks at your site and picks where the vehicle is seen and the cameras see the most.
  2. The vehicle goes on site. A marked LDG Ford Explorer with a camera on each corner, parked where it deters.
  3. LDG views it live, remotely. AI detection flags people and vehicles, and our team views the cameras live.
  4. We warn people off. Siren, warning lights and two-way talk, plus patrol visits if you add an officer.
Who it’s for

Mobile video surveillance for any site

A smarter alternative to a security camera trailer: a real, marked security vehicle that deters on sight, viewed live by LDG, and backed by officers from the same company.

Construction sites

Watch equipment, materials and site entrances overnight and on weekends.

Parking lots & garages

Deter break-ins, loitering and catalytic-converter theft with a visible camera vehicle.

HOAs & residential streets

A visible, watched presence on private streets and at gates, pools and common areas.

Retail & after-hours

Cover storefronts, loading areas and lots after closing, overnight and on holidays.

Warehouses & industrial yards

Keep eyes on fence lines, yards and stored inventory.

Events & temporary sites

Set up fast where there is no camera system, then move when the job ends.

Why visible presence works

Being seen stops crime before it starts

Researchers have tested decoy police cars, camera systems and visible patrols for decades. The pattern is consistent: visible protection deters, and it works best when someone is actually watching.

Case study

An empty police car cut speeding by over 40%

Researchers at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans parked an unmanned police car beside a road with a history of speed-related crashes and measured more than 660,000 passing drivers.

With nobody inside, the car alone dropped the share of drivers over 45 mph from 72.0% to 41.0%. When it was taken away, speeding went right back to 67.5%.

Why ours is not a decoy

The study also found the decoy’s effect faded as drivers realized nobody was inside: speeding crept back up from 27.2% to 47.4% over ten days. That is the weakness of a dummy car. LDG’s vehicle is watched live: the cameras detect people, LDG views the feed, and we can sound the siren, flash the lights and talk through the speaker. The threat is real, so it keeps working.

What 40 years of camera research found

37%

Biggest drop in parking lots

Across 76 evaluations, cameras cut crime about 13% overall. Car parks saw the largest reduction, about 37%.

15%

Live monitoring is what counts

Systems with active, live monitoring cut crime about 15%. Passive, record-only systems showed no significant effect.

34%

Cameras plus other measures

Camera programs combined with several other measures cut crime about 34%. Programs with cameras and no other measure showed no significant effect.

Visible patrol works too. In a randomized trial across 110 Minneapolis hot spots, doubling police patrol presence cut crime calls 6–13% and halved observed disorder. Source: Sherman & Weisburd, Justice Quarterly (1995)

A review of 65 studies found 62 of 78 tests of focused patrol at hot spots reported real drops in crime and disorder, with benefits spreading to nearby areas. Source: Braga et al., Campbell Systematic Reviews (2019)

FAQ

AI Surveillance Vehicle: common questions

What is the AI Vehicle Surveillance Program?

An LDG Ford Explorer fitted with four security cameras, one on each corner, parked at your property. Together the cameras cover 360°, LDG views them live and remotely, and on-camera AI detects people and vehicles.

Does the vehicle look like a police car?

No. It is marked as a private security patrol vehicle, never as police. It does not need to be a police car to deter: it is clearly a security vehicle, the cameras are in plain view, and LDG watches it live.

Is it just a decoy?

No. A decoy is an empty car that works until people figure out nobody is watching. LDG’s cameras detect people and vehicles, LDG views them live and remotely, and we can sound the siren, flash the warning lights and talk to anyone on site.

Is the vehicle manned?

No. It runs unmanned, which keeps the cost down. You can add an LDG patrol officer for scheduled visits or an on-site presence whenever you need one.

What happens when someone is detected?

The cameras flag people and vehicles and LDG views the feed live. The cameras can sound a 105 dB siren with red-and-blue warning lights, and LDG can talk through the camera to warn people off.

Can the cameras see at night?

Yes. Built-in spotlights give color night vision, and infrared night vision covers the darkest spots close to the vehicle.

How is this different from a security camera trailer?

A camera trailer is a pole with cameras. LDG’s vehicle is a marked security vehicle that deters on sight, is viewed live by LDG, and can be paired with a patrol officer from the same company.

Where does it work best?

Construction sites, parking lots, HOAs and residential communities, retail and commercial properties, warehouses and industrial yards, anywhere in Los Angeles County.
